Haunted Chocolatier, the new game from Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, hasn't received any updates in a very long time.

Fortunately, the creative sat down to give more information during a recent interview with Screen Rant. Sadly, the report indicates that the game is still some time off.

The discussion mostly focuses on Barone's work animating a music video for the independent band Alvvays, but as was inevitable, the topic of Haunted Chocolatier development came up at some point.

Barone specifically was eager to dispel any expectation that we would be receiving the game any time soon, stressing the "daunting" volume of effort that goes into a game of this scale:

While it appears that we still have a few years until we can open our own spooky candy shop, the developer continued by giving some additional information about the game's features.

The interview goes into detail regarding animating this sequel and how the developers' work on Stardew is impacting how things are done this time.
